Q: What do I need to get started?

A: To get started you will need a battery or mod, an atomizer (aka tank), and atomizer head (aka coil), a charger and some e-juice.

All of this can be purchased in a starter kit or purchased separately. Most atomizers, however, come with at least one atomizer head.

Q: What is the difference between Watts & Volts?

A: When vaping, the difference is the increments in which you are able to adjust the power going to the coil. Wattage allows you to adjust in smaller increments, thus having more control. For every 0.1 volt there is approximately 1.1 watts. This means you can make 11 adjustments in the watts setting before there is one adjustment made to the volts.

Q: What is VG/PG and why does it matter?

A: E-liquid is made up of two base ingredients, propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). These help carry the nicotine and flavoring into the vapor.

The propylene glycol is responsible for the throat hit sensation, definition of flavor and is thinner than VG, causing it to wick faster. Some people are sensitive to propylene glycol and should use juice mixes with a higher VG rating.

Vegetable glycerin produces thicker vapor clouds, has a sweet flavor, and is thicker than PG, slowing the wicking. Also, because it is made from natural ingredients some people do better with higher VG mixes.

Q: Is vaping cheaper than smoking?

A: Getting started you will be spending a little money. How much depends on the set-up you decide on. A total set-up starts as low as $35 and going up in price from there.

After your initial set-up, YES, it will be much cheaper than smoking. The only normal expenses you will have is the e-juice and the atomizer heads. How much of an expense this is depends on how often you vape, the quality of the juice you are vaping, and the set-up you are vaping with.

Q: Is vaping safer than smoking?

A: This is a subject of great debate. Because this is a new trend there haven't been many studies done & those that are out there seem to offer contradicting information.

It should be noted that nicotine, for one, is a toxic substance no matter how it enters the body. However, it has been said that vaping has helped people to reduce their intake of nicotine. E-liquid is free of the 4000 chemical compounds that are in cigarette smoke. While vaping at lower voltages has been shown to produce NO carcinogens, some studies suggest vaping at higher voltage can produce higher levels of formaldehyde-releasing agents than the level of gaseous formaldehyde released by traditional cigarettes. Although this is only one of the many carcinogens released by traditional cigarettes. However, vaping has a significantly reduced risk of second hand exposure. For more information click        .

Many people who have made the switch have noticed improvements to their health: reduction in use of nicotine, better lung capacity, more energy, better circulation, improved sense of taste & returning sense of smell.

Q: What's in the juice?

A: Most e-juice consists of Vegetable Glycerin(VG), Propylene Glycol(PG), Nicotine & Flavoring. The amounts of VG & PG can be identified in the VG/PG rating on the bottle of most juices. VG is usually listed first, or only the higher rating will be mention because the other is implied. Only juices without nicotine can be mixed without Propylene Glycol, as this is the base that is used to carry the nicotine. So, if you have nicotine in your e-juice, you also have Propylene Glycol. Propylene Glycol also offers more of a throat hit.

Q: Can I dilute my juice over time to reduce my nicotine intake? If so how?

A: You can lessen your nicotine levels in a couple ways. Either wait until the bottle is gone and buy your next bottle at a lower nicotine level or you can buy two bottles of the same flavor. One with 0mg Nicotine and one at your starting level of Nicotine. Each time you want to go down you can add a little more of the Omg to the Juice with higher nicotine levels.

The problem with this is that you wont know exactly what nicotine level you are at as you add in the Omg.

There are other ways to do this as well (by adding base vg or pg) but it may effect the quality of the juice, how well it burns, and how much flavor it has. It can also affect the lifespan of your coil so I wouldn't recommend it. We get the highest quality vg & pg ingredients available. All our ingredients are FDA approved. Do not add water in an attempt to dilute.

Q: How long should my coil last? How do I know when its time to change it?

A: The lifespan of a coil can range anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks (on average), depending on the type & brand of coil, frequency of use, quality of juice being used, and even the battery or mod. In most cases, coil failure happens gradually-starting with a gurgling noise and progressing to a flavor loss and general unresponsiveness.

Indications that your coil may need replacing include:

  •  Unexplained leaks

  • Poor vapor production

  • Less flavor or burnt/metallic taste

  • Less satisfaction from e-cig

  • No vapor output whatsoever

Q: How many traditional cigarettes are equal to one tank or cartomizer?

A: This is a tough question to answer. It depends on how you use the e-cigarettes and how much nicotine is in the e-liquid. A person who takes a longer draw will get less mileage than a lighter vaper. But roughly, 2.5ml (common tank size) of liquid with 1.8% (18mg) nicotine is equivalent to 20 analog cigarettes.

Q: How long does a 30ML bottle of e-juice last?

A: Another one of the tougher questions. This all depends on how often you vape, quality of juice and what set up you are using. A 30ML bottle can last as long as a month, with moderate to heavy use it can last 1-2 weeks. For chain-vapers it may only last 3-5 days, though this isn't typical.

Q: How much can vaping save in cost compared to smoking?

A: Assuming you vape an average of 30mL and one coil bi-weekly you would save an average of 70-90% of what is typically spent in a year on a daily smoking habit. Remember, this is just an estimate. How much you end up saving depends on what vape set up you use, the frequency with which you vape & the quality of the juice you use.

Q: I want to use vaping to quit smoking, but I'm sensitive to Propylene Glycol. What would you reccomend?

A: It depends on how sensitive you are to Propylene Glycol(PG). First; you may want to discuss this with your doctor before you decide to use this a route to quit. However; there are options out there. There  are "mixes" that claim to contain only Vegetable Glycerin(VG) and Flavoring, but contain NO nicotine. Unfortunately, if there is any nicotine content in your e-juice there is a high chance there is also Propylene Glycol. It is possible to get mixes with a lesser amount of Propylene Glycol whereas just enough to carry the nicotine and/or flavoring is put in the mix. The amount is so low that some companies list their juice as not having any in it. Often times you will discover the juices with lower PG ratings and higher VG rating are found in the drip lines. If this is the route you choose to go to quit smoking you may want to consider subohming.

Q: What is Subohming?

A: Subohming is a model of tank that utilizes coils that run at an ohm rating of less than 1.0ohms. This puts off bigger vapor clouds, offers more flavor, and allows for use of lower nicotine levels (thus less PG) without losing satisfaction from nicotine. If you are considering getting a subohm tank be sure to check that your battery (or mod) is capable of supporting a lower ohm rating.

Q: How long should a charge on my battery last?

A: The answer to this question depends on the quality of your battery, how many mAh's your battery is, what volts/watts you are vaping at, how frequently you are vaping, how long your draws are, if you turn your battery off when not in use, and what ohm rating your coil has. So, as you can see, this is not a simple question to answer. It can range anywhere from less than 24hrs to 4days.

Q: What is the lifespan of a battery or mod?

A: This depends on a few things as well. The quality of build and the design of your vape, how much you use it, how well you take care of it, and how hard you are on it. Typically, a middle of the road battery should last at least a year. Check and see if your battery or mod comes with a manufacturer’s warranty. The extent of the warranty should give you an idea of how long they expect the battery or mod should still be functioning.
